Questions and answers
What is regrouping in addition?
Regrouping (also called carrying) happens when the ones add up to 10 or more. In 47 + 38, 7 + 8 = 15, so the 10 moves into the tens.
Should two-digit addition be done in your head?
Yes. Mental strategies like adding the tens first build number sense. Written column addition is taught alongside them for bigger numbers.
How big are the numbers in this game?
Both numbers are between 10 and 89, and every total is 99 or less.
